NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — While Titans coaches and scouts are in Indianapolis for the NFL Combine building the future of this roster, Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk along with Tennessee leaders broke ground on the future home of this franchise: the new Nissan Stadium.
The $2.1 billion stadium is expected to be ready by the start of the 2027 season. According to Titans President and CEO Burke Nihill, half of the stadium’s structure will be completed at the start of the 2024 season. That’s because nearly 1,600 workers will be on the project per day.
“In the coming weeks and months, you will see your new stadium coming out of this very ground, and your stadium won’t be like any other stadium in the world,” Nihill said. “Your stadium will proudly represent the character, the soul, the diversity, and the audacity of Nashville and Tennessee.”
On average, the seats inside the new Nissan Stadium will be 38% closer to the field than in the current one, adding to an enhanced fan experience. It will also include a community center, the first in the NFL.
Adams Strunk reflected on her father, Bud Adams, choosing to make Nashville home to his franchise decades ago.
“I don’t think my father could have dreamed of just how right he was,” said Adams Strunk. “This city and this state have been the most incredible home we could ever have asked for, and last year we signed a new lease with the city of Nashville to remain here for another generation.”
