Taking stock of everything Brian Callahan says today
[UPDATE 1] – Callahan does not anticipate giving up playcalling duties.
[UPDATE 2] – Staff changes, if any, will be made as the week goes along.
[UPDATE 3] – Cally still believes in the tools Will Levis has but told him there would, at minimum, be competition at the position next year.
[UPDATE 4] – QB evaluation won’t be finished until they get to meet with and talk to the guys in this draft.
[UPDATE 5] – Cally anticipates Ran Carthon and Chad Brinker back until someone tells him otherwise.
[UPDATE 6] – When asked about the offensive line, Callahan had good things to say about both JC Latham and Peter Skoronski. Says he feels good from “center on left” on the offensive line.
[UPDATE 7] – Callahan said he hasn’t spoken with Amy Adams yet regarding how the team moves forward.
[UPDATE 8] – Said they want to be a “draft and develop team,” and that to do that effectively you have to nail the draft.
[UPDATE 9] – Cally said he is disappointed that he wasn’t able to help get more out of the quarterback position this season.
Tennessee Titans Brian Callahan is having his end of the year press conference today at 1:30 PM. Titans owner Amy Adams-Strunk hasn’t said officially that Cally will be back next season, but the fact that he is having the press conference is a pretty good indication that he is. Last year there was no presser scheduled for Mike Vrabel on the day following the season. He was fired on that Tuesday.
There will be a lot of questions about the plan at quarterback going forward. My guess is that Callahan will not really answer any of those questions.
What we are still waiting for is confirmation that Ran Carthon and/or Chad Brinker will be back. That seems to be the only piece of this that is really still up in the air. My guess as of 1:06 on Monday is that they will both be back. I understand the issues people have with them, but they have done enough to get at least one more year. A good 2025 NFL Draft can set this team up for some success going forward – well, that and a plan at quarterback.
If you missed it earlier, Melo posted the Titans’ opponents for next season. The most interesting game on that schedule is the New England Patriots coming to Nissan Stadium. Will that be Vrabel’s return to Nashville?
