The Tennessee Titans hired John Fassel as special teams coordinator on Monday, replacing Colt Anderson in that role. Anderson has not been fired as of yet and it is unclear what his role will be going forward. After having one of the worst special teams units in the league in 2024, one of Mike Borgonzi’s first moves was to replace Anderson with a veteran in the special teams world.
Fassel had no previous connections to the Titans or anyone within its organization, and the same is true of Borgonzi. These decisions highlight the Titans’ desire for a fresh perspective on turning things around, and their desire to get rid of old habits that may be holding them back.
However, these hires mean that most people within the Titans organization and fanbase don’t know much about either of these guys. So, here are six things to know about the Titans’ new special teams coordinator.
