Titans add some experience to their offensive coaching staff.
Paul Kuharsky is reporting that the Tennessee Titans are hiring veteran coach Mike McCoy as an offensive assistant. McCoy has ties to this coaching staff as he was on the same staff as Brian Callahan with the Denver Broncos and on the same staff as offensive coordinator Nick Holz with the Jacksonville Jaguars. McCoy was the head coach of the then-San Diego Chargers from 2013-2016. He compiled a 28-38 record there.
It is never a bad thing to hire guys who have experience to the coaching staff, especially when you have a first-time head coach and a first-time offensive coordinator. Now, his experience hasn’t always been successful, but he brings a lot of knowledge to the staff. He did have success in Denver with both Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow.
The player acquisition part of the offseason is still to come, but the Titans have made some good moves in the front office and with the coaching staff since the 2024 season ended.
