The Tennessee Titans have the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft, and everyone has an opinion on what the team should do with it.
Even here at Titans Wire, we debate it and cannot yet reach a consensus on what the team should do. There are so many arguments to be made and factors to consider, plus it is still extremely early in the process. What we think today could definitely change after the combine or pro-day workouts.
During a recent appearance with the guys at Bleacher Report, star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons weighed in with his opinion.
Jeffery Simmons on the #Titans having the No.1 pick and what the team needs:
“I’m gonna start on the defensive side of the ball. We need another edge rusher. That guy from Penn State Abdul Carter, he’s a DAWG.”

“On the defensive side, I think we need another edge guy.” Simmons said, “That guy from Penn State, Abdul Carter, he’s a DAWG.”
Carter is definitely an impact player with an extremely high ceiling and could be a player that can help take an already solid defense to another level. He’s also a player who might meet the Titans’ desire to draft a generational talent with that No. 1 overall selection. Being one of two players that scouts can relatively agree on.
While there is still a long time between now and the NFL draft in April, Carter is one player that will likely stay in the conversation up until a name is called.
