Another disastrous performance from Will Levis and the Titans
Tyjae Spears had a really good game today. He accounted for 92 total yards and two touchdowns. Chig Okonkwo was good as well with eight catches for 59 yards. That’s all the good that came from today’s game. Everything else was an absolute disaster.
Let’s start with Will Levis. He threw for just 89 yards and three interceptions before being replaced by Mason Rudolph in the third quarter. He also lost a fumble. Some of that could have been due to the shoulder injury he has been battling through since the game in Miami, but you cannot blame all of it on that. We saw three weeks of pretty good play from him in November, but the balance of the season has been terrible. He’s not the answer. I don’t know what they will do this offseason to address the position, but it is clear that Levis isn’t the answer.
Jeffery Simmons said earlier this year that no one runs on the Tennessee Titans. The Titans scored a touchdown to cut it to 31-21 with 6:50 left. They still could have made it a game if the defense could have gotten a stop. Chase Brown then gained 39 of his 97 yards on the ensuing drive to put the game away. This defense lacks the killer instinct it needs to really impact a game.
There is plenty of blame to go around here. Nothing on this team is good enough. The coaching isn’t good enough. The roster isn’t good enough. Amy Adams-Strunk is going to have to take a long look at everything in the building this offseason.
