I hope they rotate series college style!
Steve Spurrier once said, “If you have two quarterbacks you don’t have one.” Brian Callahan said at his Monday press conference that he expects both Will Levis and Mason Rudolph to play quarterback for the Tennessee Titans on Sunday against the Houston Texans. I’m not really sure what the point is there, but if it helps the tank reach full tank then I’m all for it.
The Levis experiment is over here. I’d say it’s 50/50 that he will even be on the roster next year. From a contract perspective, it would make sense to keep him because he’s still cheap for a couple of years, but we have seen plenty of examples around the league where a team ships a guy on a rookie contract out after he was given a shot and they moved on. Rudolph was signed to a one-year contract before the season. They could want him back as the backup, but he has proven that is all he is.
Again, I am all for them treating this like a preseason game because the Titans have a chance to get the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft with a loss and a win by the New England Patriots.
