Mike Vrabel’s job security remains uncertain after the Tennessee Titans concluded a 6-11 season.
Rumors have swirled about the Titans changing head coaches after six years. It appears Vrabel would stay in Tennessee if players had a say.
Rookie quarterback Will Levis was among the players to endorse Vrabel after Sunday’s 28-20 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
“I love everyone in this building. I hope it stays the same, and I hope that we’re all able to grow and we’re all gonna stick together,” Levis said, via Paul Kuharsky. “Obviously, I don’t have a say in any of those types of things. But hopefully it stays together and we’re able to keep this thing rolling.”

Guard Daniel Brunskill, who started 14 games in his first season with the Titans, also praised his coach.
“I love Vrabes. He’s an awesome guy,” Brunskill said, via The Tennessean’s Nick Suss. “I would love to have him as our coach going forward because he’s a great locker room guy being a former player and understanding everything we’ve gone through as players.”
The Titans made three playoff appearances in four consecutive winning seasons to start Vrabel’s tenure. However, they ended 2022 on a seven-game losing streak before failing to win two consecutive games this season.
A league source told CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson that it’s “50/50” whether Vrabel returns to Tennessee in 2024. The Athletic’s Dianna Russini said late Monday afternoon that Titans players and coaches are still waiting for an update.
“I believe in coach Vrabel’s message to us, and sometimes things just don’t happen the way they’re supposed to happen,” defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons said. “Hopefully going forward he is our coach. This is a business, so I don’t know what may happen. I’m not hearing anything.”
