Just two days before their showdown with the Texans, the Titans waived defensive tackle Teair Tart.
According to ESPN, the Titans cut Tart because of concerns over his effort and attitude.
Tart’s lack of effort was apparently on display during Monday night’s game between the Dolphins and Titans. Apparently, the fourth-year defensive tackle was frustrated about his contract situation. He was playing this season on a second-round tender.
In November, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel opened up about Tart’s future in Tennessee.
“There’s no secret that Teair’s contract’s up after this year,” Vrabel said, via ESPN. “I told him that, ‘For you and your family, both things can happen. You can play well and you can help the team, and you can play well and help your family.'”

It’s safe to say Tart won’t be receiving a lucrative extension from the Titans.
Tart racked up 76 tackles, 2.5 sacks, a forced fumble and an interception during his time with the Titans.
We’ll see if a team in need of help at defensive tackle considers picking up Tart.
