It was tough for Malik Willis in his rookie year. And after the Titans took Kentucky’s Will Levis in the second round of this year’s draft, many counted him out to be QB2 in Tennessee.
But Mike Vrabel listed Willis ahead of Levis on the team’s depth chart and the former Liberty star sees 2022 as a season of growth.
“A lot of people took [it as] bad, but what can you do in three games? It’s sporadic during the season,” Willis said, via NFL.com.
Titans QB Malik Willis has looked good in minicamp as he vies for the No. 2 spot ahead of Will Levis: “I don’t really get into all that. I just try to go to work every day.”https://t.co/dtG4hcyNlC pic.twitter.com/CeuddexkGA

“In your rookie season, you are trying to learn. Everybody says ‘you’re a project this, project that,’ but I mean, understanding, coming in everyday to get better at what I can do and [trying to] get more comfortable at what we are trying to do here.”
“It’s a results-based business,” he continued. “It doesn’t matter what I think, it doesn’t matter what you think, it just is. I am just focusing on what I can control.”
With a new offensive staff in town, Willis seems to be steadily improving. Who knows where his career ends up from here, but the soon-to-be second-year QB is doing all he can to make good on the potential many thought he had coming out of college.
