Tennessee Titans second-year running back Hassan Haskins is facing a charge of aggravated assault by strangulation, according to reports.
ESPN’s Turron Davenport first broke the news of Haskins’ legal trouble, which stems from an alleged fight he had with his girlfriend Makiah Green.
ScoopNashville.com’s Wayne Steen obtained police records regarding two incidents. The first, one June 22, was reportedly instigated by Green “liking” another man’s post on Instagram.
“The two argued, and she began to throw his shoes onto the floor, causing him to be angered and demand she stops touching his things,” Steen wrote. “When she didn’t stop, he reportedly pushed her to the ground, causing an injury to the back of her head.
“She says he then pulled her from the closet as she fought back and tossed her onto the bed, where he strangled her with both hands for approximately 10-15 seconds. Once he released her, the two exchanged slaps and continued fighting. He eventually threw her to the ground, where she fell atop a dog crate and was strangled a second time. He fled the home shortly after, and she took photos of bruises to her face, neck, and shoulder which she provided to police.”

According to police, another incident allegedly occurred on June 29, following a conversation the two had about ending their relationship.
Green said she threw a glass at Haskins and locked herself in a room. She then accused the Titans running back of kicking down the door, cocking a handgun and stating, “I hope you would,” as she threatened to slash his tires and ripped a $5,000 chain from his neck.
Haskins was jailed for the first incident and charged with felony aggravated assault/strangulation, while Green was jailed for the second confrontation and two counts of felony aggravated assault/strangulation and felony vandalism.
