The Tennessee Titans are still deciding on who their starting quarterback will be next Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, and Mike Garafolo, Ryan Tannehill is nursing a high ankle sprain, but it’s not considered significant. If Tannehill can’t go, the Titans are preparing both Malik Willis and Will Levis to start.
“While Tannehill hasn’t been ruled out for the Titans’ Oct. 29 game against the Falcons (Tennessee is on a bye this week), it’s unlikely that he will be able to play. Sources say the Titans, who practiced several times this week despite their bye week, are preparing Will Levis and Malik Willis to start if Tannehill is unable to play Week 8,” Rapoport, Pelissero, and Garafolo write.
Among the notes in this article…
— Jimmy G is dealing with back soreness and should miss just one start.
— Ryan Tannehill is likely out next week, which opens the door for… ? https://t.co/eJClqdZmrg— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) October 21, 2023
Tannehill sprained his right ankle during last Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. He left in the second half and did not return.
It led to the Titans losing that game, dropping their record to 2-4 overall.
But the options if Tannehill can’t play aren’t all that enticing. Malik Willis struggled in his rookie season last year while Will Levis didn’t exactly distinguish himself in his limited action this year.
We’ll have to see what this week of practice holds for all three quarterbacks.
