The fire sale has started in Nashville. No one should be safe!
Earlier this morning it was announced that the Tennessee Titans are sending wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Kansas City Chiefs for a fifth-round pick that could become a fourth-round pick. It has also been reported that the Titans will be paying at least some of the money DHop is owed for this season. Hopefully, that was a concession for getting that conditional fourth.
Hopkins was really good for this team last year catching 75 passes for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns. This year he has not been as involved in the offense and the offense has been terrible. The 2024 Titans are going nowhere, so it is the best thing for the team and Hopkins for them to move him. He has to be thrilled to from playing with Will Levis to Patrick Mahomes. That’s about the biggest upgrade possible in the league.
If I were Ran Carthon and Chad Brinker I’d be on the phone with every contending team in the league with just about every player that isn’t on a rookie contract. The Titans need to tear it down. Harold Landry, Jeffery Simmons, and Amani Hooker probably all have some value around the league. Get what you can for those guys to add ammo from the upcoming draft(s).
