Malik Willis is coming to town!
The last two weeks in the local sports talk market have been rough, but they will be nothing compared to what we will hear if the Tennessee Titans lose to the Green Bay Packers with Malik Willis at quarterback. The good news here is that the Titans are favored for the first time all season. They are a 2.5-point favorite over at FanDuel. That number assumes that Willis will be the quarterback for the Packers. If Jordan Love is able to come back and play the Titans will likely flip to a 2.5 or 3-point underdog.
It looks like the Titans will catch a break in each of the next two games facing backup quarterbacks. Willis this week and whoever the Miami Dolphins decide to start in week 4. They have to find a way to take advantage of that. We would have all been happy with a 2-2 September before the season started. It is going to look different than we expected if it does happen, but they do have a legitimate chance to make that happen.
The over/under in this game currently sits at 36.5. I’d take the under because neither team is going to have much of a desire to throw the ball in this game. The Packers won’t because Willis isn’t a good passer. The Titans won’t because they don’t trust Will Levis to make good decisions. It will come down to whichever team can stop the run and take care of the football. It probably won’t be that fun to watch.
