That was a game Brian Callahan really needed.
Well, it wasn’t easy, but the Tennessee Titans improved to 2-6 with a 20-17 overtime win against the New England Patriots. After letting Drake Maye scramble for almost 12 seconds to throw a touchdown on the final play of regulation, the Titans drove the field and got a field goal on their overtime possession. Armani Hooker picked off a pass to end the game on the Patriots ensuing possession.
The Titans had a lot of the same problems in this game that have haunted them most of the season. They were terrible on special teams and couldn’t get much going in the second half on offense. The difference today was they pressured the quarterback and forced two turnovers – both Hooker interceptions.
Brian Callahan needed this win. His staff has been reeling the last couple of weeks. Now it’s time to see if they can build on it and get better as the season goes along.
