Bless his heart.
Brian Callahan announced yesterday that Treylon Burks is done for the season after having a procedure on his ACL. In case you have forgotten, Jon Robinson made the worst trade in Tennessee Titans‘ history when he traded A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles. He used the first-round pick that he acquired in that trade to draft Treylon Burks. He then used the first-round pick the Titans already had to draft…oh wait, he didn’t get an extra pick in the deal. It was just a first-round pick swap.
Burks has been injured for most of his time in Tennessee. We can all remember fondly the 2023 training camp when there was buzz around Burks. He was supposed to have finally figured it out. He then got hurt in a joint practice and finished last season with 16 catches and zero touchdowns. He has one touchdown reception in his three years here. Now, that touchdown was awesome because he held onto the ball when he got knocked out…so at least there’s that.
Burks’s salary for 2025 is fully guaranteed. The Titans would only gain money against the cap if they designate him as a post-June 1st cut. It’s hard to believe Burks will be on this roster next year.
