Will Levis is scheduled to get an MRI on Monday.
Ian Rapoport is reporting this morning that Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis suffered a sprained ankle in yesterday’s overtime loss to the Houston Texans. Levis will have an MRI today to determine the extent of the injury. If it is a high-ankle sprain, he will likely miss the rest of the season.
The most valuable thing for Levis would be to get to play these last three games because there is no substitute for live game action. However, if he is hobbled at all behind this offensive line they should just go ahead and shut him down. It is not worth risking an injury that could hold him out of the offseason program in that scenario.
If Levis does miss time, and that seems really likely, it will be interesting to see who the Titans run out there at quarterback. Ryan Tannehill is the backup, but no one benefits from him playing. He isn’t coming back here next season, and he probably has very little desire to go back out there behind this line. Who could blame him?
I’d probably let Malik Willis have these last three games. The Titans have probably already made the determination that he isn’t a guy that figures into their long-term plans, but why not give him a shot to play? Maybe he can prove them wrong and at least get on another team’s radar this offseason.
If Levis can’t go, who would you run out there on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks?
